PPMD Event/Activity Participation Waiver and Release

Name and Date of Event or Activity: Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon, We Are Houston 5K; January 15-17, 2027

We are pleased that You have chosen to participate in the above-named Event or Activity sponsored by Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, Inc. (“PPMD”).  (For purposes of this Agreement, the terms “You” and “Your”  shall include  any attendee’s  agreement to the following waiver and release on your own behalf and on behalf of your child.)   We believe Your participation will be informative and enjoyable and provide important support for PPMD’s charitable mission.  

However, PPMD cannot accept responsibility for any illness or injury or loss attributable to Your participation. Accordingly, we ask that you consider the following before deciding to participate in the Event or Activity. If you decide to participate, you must execute the waiver and release set forth below.  However, even if you fail to execute this release and waiver, by attending and/or participating in the Event or Activity, you are deemed to have agreed to the following waiver and  release to the fullest extent permitted by law.

AS A PARTICIPANT, VOLUNTEER, OR ATTENDEE, YOU RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR PARTICIPATION, INVOLVEMENT AND/OR ATTENDANCE AT A PPMD EVENT OR ACTIVITY IS VOLUNTARY AND COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY (INCLUDING DEATH) AND/ECONOMIC LOSS, INCLUDING PROPERTY DAMAGE. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU DERIVE PERSONAL SATISFACTION AND BENEFIT FROM YOUR PARTICIPATION AND HAVE DECIDED TO ATTEND THE EVENT OR ACTIVITY AFTER SEEKING SUCH THIRD PARTY ADVICE AS YOU CONSIDER TO BE NECESSARY. YOU HEREBY WAIVE AND FOREVER RELEASE PPMD AND ITS AFFILIATED PARTNERS AND SPONSORS, INCLUDING IN EACH CASE, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS (COLLECTIVELY, THE RELEASED PARTIES”) FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, AND DEMANDS OF WHATEVER KIND OR NATURE EITHER IN LAW OR IN EQUITY (COLLECTIVELY “CLAIMS”), TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, INCLUDING DAMAGES OR LOSSES CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE, FAULT OR CONDUCT OF ANY KIND ON THE PART OF THE RELEASED PARTIES WHICH YOU AND YOUR, CHILD, HEIRS, ASSIGNEES, NEXT OF KIN AND/OR LEGALLY APPOINTED OR DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVES, MAY SUFFER OR WHICH MAY HEREINAFTER ACCRUE ON YOUR BEHALF, WHICH ARISE OR MAY HEREAFTER ARISE AS A RESULT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT OR ACTIVITY. 

YOU ALSO RELEASE AND WAIVE ANY CLAIM AGAINST A PROPERTY OR SITE OWNER OF THE ACTIVITY OR EVENT, AND (ALL PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE AFFILIATES, SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, VENDORS, PARTNERS, DIRECTORS, AND OFFICERS, OF SUCH ENTITIES.

By registering for the Event, you hereby understand that You/your child may be photographed, videotaped, webcast, or digitally recorded, as may be your/your child’s voice, and hereby waive any objection, condition, limit, or right you may have to the photographs or recordings.
