By registering as a charity runner for Magee‑Womens Research Institute & Foundation (“MWRIF”), I acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
Participation & Eligibility
I am voluntarily participating in one or more endurance events as an independent fundraiser in support of MWRIF’s mission to advance women’s health research and care. I confirm that I meet all eligibility requirements established by the event organizer and agree to comply with all event rules, policies, safety guidelines, and codes of conduct.
Fundraising Commitment & Credit‑Card Guarantee
I understand that participation as a charity runner is contingent upon meeting a minimum fundraising commitment set for my selected event and distance. I agree to actively and ethically solicit donations on behalf of MWRIF and acknowledge that fundraising minimums are charitable contributions, not entry fees, and are non‑refundable.
If I do not meet my required minimum fundraising amount by the stated deadline, I authorize MWRIF to charge the remaining balance to the credit card provided during registration and/or commitment confirmation, as permitted by law. I understand that this credit‑card authorization serves as a guarantee of my fundraising commitment.
No Refunds, Transfers, or Credits
I understand that charity bibs are non‑transferable and non‑refundable. Donations raised on behalf of MWRIF cannot be refunded. Event cancellations, postponements, force majeure, or changes beyond MWRIF’s control do not obligate MWRIF to refund fundraising dollars, race registration costs, or any associated expenses.
Assumption of Risk & Medical Acknowledgment
I certify that I am physically capable of participating and have consulted a medical professional if necessary. I understand that endurance activities involve inherent risks, including injury, illness, dehydration, cardiac events, or death, and I voluntarily assume all risks associated with training, travel, fundraising activities, and race participation.
Release & Waiver of Liability
In consideration of my participation, I release and hold harmless Magee‑Womens Research Institute & Foundation, its officers, trustees, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and affiliated entities from any and all claims, losses, liabilities, or damages arising from my participation, whether resulting from negligence or otherwise.
Travel, Lodging & Event‑Operator Policies
I acknowledge that MWRIF does not provide or cover travel, lodging, transportation, admission fees, meals, or personal expenses unless explicitly stated in writing. I agree to comply with all rules and policies established by the event organizer or race operator, including safety, costume, cancellation, and conduct policies. Failure to comply with event‑operator rules may result in removal from the event without refund.
Media & Communications Consent
I grant MWRIF permission to use my name, image, likeness, video, voice, fundraising story, and related content for promotional, educational, and fundraising purposes across print, digital, and social media channels without compensation.
Youth / Parent‑Guardian Acknowledgment
If the participant is under the age of 18, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to all terms of this agreement on the participant’s behalf and accepts full responsibility for the participant’s conduct, fundraising commitment, and compliance with all requirements.
Further, the parent or legal guardian grants permission for MWRIF to use the minor participant’s name, image, likeness, video, voice, fundraising story, and related content for promotional, educational, and fundraising purposes across print, digital, and social media channels without compensation.
Independent Relationship
I acknowledge that I am participating as a volunteer fundraiser and not as an employee, contractor, or agent of MWRIF. I am responsible for my fundraising communications, actions, and compliance with applicable laws and platform terms.
